Lazy Eye By Every Other Title Is Amblyopia

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012

It does not necessarily refer to an eye that always turns, and you would probably be surprised to learn of many people you know that actually have one lazy eye. The official term for lazy eye is ?Amblyopia? which is defined as decreased vision in one or both eyes without detectable anatomic damage to the retina or visual pathways. The thing with amblyopia is that the eye may still function, just not in correlation with the other eye. Amblyopia may be the number one reason to have a childs eyes checked as early as possible, because if it is caught early enough, there is hope for correction. So, when amblyopia is discovered early enough, measures can be taken.

Usually this is as simple as patching the good eye and forcing the amblyopic eye to develop to the best of its ability.

How well it will develop is on a case per case basis. And don?t worry, patching the good eye can not have a detrimental effect on the good eyes development. So in short, a lazy eye is one that does not see as well as the other eye and it is rooted in developmental issues between the eyes and the brain.

ie. Lazy Eye.

No Comments As the oft-repeated clich goes, the eyes are the windows of our soul. The eyes may reflect that which cannot be put into words. A side-ways glance, a shy look, the scorching look, the look of content, whatever may be the feeling, the eyes reflect them flawlessly.

Just as the eye reflects our thoughts, eye-makeup reflects our talent! It is the right accessory to add to the charm of our eyes. And the right eye makeup indeed has the potential to transform our look! There are different techniques available, with the same combination of makeup paraphernalia, to bring out the magic of our eyes.

We all may not have deep, huge, blue eyes, but we definitely are endowed with a certain charm and the right tools to accentuate it and catch the eyes of everybody!

A decent eye makeup involves several steps. A concealer would be good to start off with as it hides the uneven coloration like darker skin at the inner eye area, or dark circles under the eye. It provides a good base to apply further make-up on.

The next would be primer to provide a foundation for your eye make-up to last hours without slithering off, followed by an eye-shadow. This is where you may experiment and churn out the best ways to accentuate your eyes. To suit the type of eyes you have got, whether deep set or wide apart, small or prominent, different techniques of applying eye shadow can be used. For deep set eyes, a lighter primary shade over the entire eye lid with the darker shade of color applied just below the brow would be the right combination whereas, for making wide-set eyes look closer to each other, the best eye makeup technique would be to apply a darker shade at the inner corners of the eyes, with the lighter shades occupying the outer part of the eyes.
